Taylor Selby has worked in the solar industry for more than 17 years and has been a NABCEP Board Certified PV Technical Sales Professional since 2011. He provides expert analysis and testimony on solar sales methodologies and techniques, and on solar industry standards. Retained in 80+ cases across 9+ states.
BACKGROUND
Expertise in solar sales and industry practice
Many solar disputes involve how a system was sold: the proposal, the projected production and savings, the financing terms and the disclosures made to the customer. Taylor’s experience in the solar industry and his NABCEP PV Technical Sales certification cover these areas directly, including system sizing, production estimates, financial analysis and customer disclosure.
Taylor has held positions as a business owner, officer and executive team member in the solar industry. As Vice President of Sales at Positive Energy Solar (2008–2017), he was responsible for all sales activities for the commercial and residential business units, including hiring, training and managing sales staff. He later served as Director of Sales at Affordable Solar, where he developed and implemented sales training, and returned to Positive Energy Solar as Vice President, owner and officer (2018–2025), overseeing sales, marketing, design, installation and project management for the residential business unit. Today he also owns Sales Abundance, which provides professional development in ethical, value-based solar sales. This breadth of experience allows him to provide expert opinions and testimony on matters spanning the solar industry.
He has been retained as an expert witness for the past eight years, is a judge-qualified expert in solar systems and solar industry standards, and has testified at deposition and trial. He has never been disqualified as an expert witness.
